Regarding Schedules

Welcome back, Bulldogs! We’ve been back in school for a month now, and we’re pleased to see how well everyone is adjusting to the new schedule. Good job!

Due to changing circumstances, we have to present you with another schedule shift starting this Tuesday. This new schedule is expected to improve everyone’s focus, and make sure that nobody is feeling confused.

So, here’s a breakdown of the new schedule to ensure everyone can get to class right on time: When you get to school at 8:00 (we expect you to arrive early and prepared), you’re going to go to lunch at 8:40 to just get that pesky meal out of the way. Lunch is going to be twelve minutes long so that we can all be more present in class. After your nourishing lunch, you’re going to second period, as Tuesdays and Thursdays are even days going forward.

Even classes will be exactly fifty-one minutes long, providing both students and teachers with the optimal amount of time for learning. Once you get through the day, you’ll head to study hall. Every teacher will have an eighth period study hall, and I mean every single one. Don’t try to clear your roster, we will deliberately leave only one student in your study hall.

Until 3:40, you will be in study hall! This will leave plenty of time for (insert option) and (other option)! But you can’t leave your classroom. Bathrooms will be shut down during study hall to ensure that people are not skipping class, and the water fountains are still infested with lead so it’s really…just not worth the risk to drink that. Teachers will not be permitted to give people passes anywhere, so if you are caught in the hallways we will be pulling you for an interrogation.

If you want to avoid this, you need to wear a sign that says exactly where you are going and why. This sign will be gold and purple and four feet tall, describing exactly why you need to leave, including signatures from parents and teachers.

Fifth period is a sort of surprise class, to sharpen student’s minds, it will be bi-weekly and three hours long (have fun, teachers!).

Now, onto our Wednesday/Friday schedule! That’s odd classes now, and lunch will be at the end of the day to balance out Tuesdays/Thursdays. It will be twelve minutes long to keep a little well-needed consistency. First period will be two hours, third period will be thirty minutes, and seventh period will be five hours. Finally, your generous lunch, meaning school ends at 3:22!

Or, you would, but then you have study hall for one more hour, which is necessary to attend if you want to pass any of your other classes. Yes, your study hall teacher has access to all your other grades. That means you will get out of school at 4:22. If you have a job or prior engagements, don’t reach out to us, we don’t care. This schedule is final. For this week.

Much love,

Oakland Tech Admin!

P.S. don’t reach out to us asking “When is fifth?? How does it work??” we don’t want to answer that.

P.P.S don’t ask us about Monday, just show up and try. A good attitude is all you need to succeed.
